Yes! Xermes is free to download and use. There's an optional Pro upgrade that removes ads and provides additional features, but the core functionality is completely free.
Xermes runs a complete Linux environment on your device. The initial download is small (~50MB), but it downloads additional components during setup to provide full functionality. This includes the AI runtime, file manager, terminal, and other tools.
You need internet for the initial setup and for AI features (since they connect to AI providers). However, many features like file management, terminal access, and task management work completely offline.
